Standards that include models of student work are available to and discussed with students
- Standards and rubrics are posted in classrooms
- Teachers discuss standards and rubrics with students
- Students are able to articulate, demonstrate and describe what they are learning
- Students have been involved in articulating the criteria for work that meets proficiency
- Teacher feedback related to the standards and rubrics
Students know how to evaluate their work based on the standards
- Students have and use rubrics to judge the quality of their work
- Students self-evaluate and peer edit based on clear criteria
- Students meet with teachers to discuss the quality of their work
- Students are clear about what they need to do to make their work better.
There are benchmark expectations leading to meeting standards
- For every grade level and course curriculum, maps with a sequence of concepts and skills and assessments are identified to meet the appropriate grade level standards addressed
- Rubrics and models of student work are available for each assessment
- Teaching explicitly addressed the skills and concepts for each standard
Families and the school community are aware of the standards students are expected to accomplish at every grade level and in every course
- Student work displays that include scored student work, criteria charts, instructional activities,
rubrics and assessments are posted
- Students have opportunities to explain how their work is evaluated to parents
- Parents know the standards and the criteria for evaluation at every grade level and in all courses

All Marshall Fundamental graduates will demonstrate proficiency, excelling toward:
- Mastery of reading, writing, listening, and mathematics standards
- Effective mastery of the skills needed to implement post secondary plans successfully

- Skills necessary to be a productive member of society exercising all rights and responsibilities
- Proficiency in using technology to research, solve problems, communicate, and manage daily life
