U. S. News and World Report Names Marshall Fundamental one of America's Best High Schools
For the second year in a row, Marshall has been named as one of America's Best High Schools by U.S. News and World Report.  Over 21,000 schools in the 48 states plus the District of Columbia were analyzed.  Factors that determined the ranking included test performance, socio-economic level and and college preparedness.  Marshall received a silver medal, one of only 461 in the nation to receive this distinction.  Area schools joining Marshall as a silver medalist include San Marino High School and Arcadia High School.  La Canada is the only Southern California High School to receive a gold medal.  Congratulations, Marshall.  Keep up the good work!

Marshall Chosen to Participate in the "Nation's Report Card"
Marshall Fundamental has been selected as one of only about 125 high schools in California to participate in a survey and test based on our demographics. Thirty seniors have been randomly selected by the U.S. Department of Education to participate. This process is called the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) and is commonly known as  the "Nation's Report Card".  The NAEP is a 90-120 minute computer-based writing test. This is significant as important decisions about education are made using NAEP results.
Final Exam Schedule
Final exams are scheduled for February 2, 3 and 4. Minimum bell schedule with dismissal time 12:30 p.m.  No school on Friday, Feb. 5.

Tickets for the Drama, “Night of One Acts”, are now on sale.  The performance will be held in Room B123.  The cost is $5.00 pre-sale and $7.00 at the door.  Performance dates are January 28 and 29 at 7:00 p.m.

Welcome to Marshall's New Website
The website is under construction, so you will find some navigation links empty. A new addition to our website will allow users the opportunity to view single calendars or to layer calendars.  Marshall calendars are: School Calendar, Activities Calendar, Athletics Calendar, and a Testing Calendar. These calendars can be stacked to view at one time.  To do this, click on the calendar icon on the top navigation bar, click "School Calendar". In the middle of the page click on "Choose calendars to view". A drop down list of all schools will show, find Marshall and then "x"  the calendars you will like to overlay. Then click "View chosen calendar"

THANK YOU to everyone who turned out for our PTSA Beautification Day. The main building was given a good scrub. Thanks Nella Abelson for organizing.
Congratulations to our Eagles Marching Band!
The field competition was held at Granada Hills Charter High School.  The Marching Band came in 1st place in the 4A division for both Percussion and Overall Band and 3rd place for Auxiliary--an amazing accomplishment given that our band has been without a director and student led since the beginning of the school year.   Special acknowledgment to Brian Kundinger, Drum Major!
